A month of Cora

A couple of weeks before Gus was born, the Pilot picked out The Jet Alphabet Book during a lazy afternoon of sidewalk shopping in Thomasville. The Pilot immediately spotted the A-10 on the cover. It is one of Gus's favorite books.

I have never had difficulty finding an excuse to buy a book, so I was surprised when I realized that I had not bought a book for Cora. It happened on Friday while shopping for a book for our friend Xavier's first birthday party at Antigone Books. So I bought Cora the gorgeously written board book On the Day You Were Born.

And that day was over four months ago!

I was talking to one of my many friends with babies born just this past September, and we both could not believe that our babies were a third of the way through their first year.

And I did take pictures this month, but as my mother-in-law suggested, I probably haven't been taking very many photos because of where Cora spends the majority of her waking moments. And she is the second child after all....

The kid does not stop eating. It is getting better. Slowly.

Here is Part I of Cora from the past month.

Cora's dad likes to sing a couple of lines from The Kinks song "Lola" and substitutes her name, "C-O-R-A, Cora!"

This was right before New Years.

Her expressions are many and varied.

In the past month, she has begun laughing, rolling, and focusing on objects. She finds her older brother very amusing.

Gus is pretty fond of Cora, too.

And this one is for you, Aunt Tandi....

And we still do not know if we are going. Now, it is up to the DoD schools to see if they can accommodate Gus's speech issue. I am working on that post. It's a long story, one that I do not feel comfortable making public here until we do know.

I do not predict whether we will find out next week or next month.

Oh, yeah. Next week is next month.

More pictures of Cora coming soon....
